Birthday cake wishes....

SO here is  some more  gorgeous Save the Date from kaiser.....from Teleahs  fifth birthday which we celebrated at Noosa....one of our favourite holiday spots!!

I  have used a plain pink background and added a  piece of Save the Date Streamers
then used the strips from the bottoms of the papers (clever huh!!)  to  add some more interest -  looks like  strips of ribbon.

I have also added a  length of pink ricrac - LOVE   ricrac!!

I have then  handcut a banner and adhered  that to both sides of the photo.

I have then added some clustres of flowers using Gardenias  and Roses ....

Tracy also makes the most fabulous  handmade embellishments and I was able to  include this little beauty on this page....The Pink Present charming chain.  These are available in all sorts of colours and I just love them!!!

I have then also made my own little funky banner  using offcuts and  decorated with buttons and cutouts and stickers ....attached to the green twine.

I used the square  from the HIP HIP paper and inked the edges  for my  title "Today I turn...5"

And here is the final layout.

Windswept....Attitude

At times we get major King Tides on the Gold Coast - my  kids love to go and  see them and see the amazing  damage it can do to our coastline....this photo was one of these events.  The wind was so strong we were lucky to not get blown off!!

I have used more of the  fabulous ATTITUDE papers  for this  layout - I loved the colours with the colours in the photo....

I have used the awesome  woodpanelled REBEL paper for my background....and then I love the TYPO on the Attitude Teenager paper so I inked the edges of the paper and adhered to the right side of the  paper.  I also used the \reverse side just peeking out from the bottom of the photo.  I love layering and how you can use smaller pieces of paper and  the double sides to get more out of your papers!  I also have the Attitude sticker sheet and I have used the sticker to add some  extra interest -  with the crowns at the top and the  gear chain at the side of the photo.

I then made my own embellishment using a shipping tag and  inked with the Kaiser postmarks stamp and I added a real air mail stamp and a small rose.  I have adhered this to the  left side of the photo.

I  also LOVE  the unique ribbons  from My2angels and I loved the Hanging around  ribbon for this layout - running across the bottom of the layout.

I have also used two more shipping tags from the side of the photo to adhere my    Title too - I used the lettering  from the ATTITUDE sticker sheet .and of course I had to add some  twine and   two cute  charms - a little  bicycle and a boy

and here is the finished  piece!!

Some unexpected Prima!!!

When you say Prima to me - I think of Pretty , floral, flowery, pastel types of patterns and  papers.  SO  I was happily surprised to see the Prima  Craftsman Collection - a fabulous grungy style  set of papers  perfectly suited  to the  boys in my life!!!

So for this example I have  chosen a   fabulous   background paper called Mechanic.  I have then used  the  fabulous Crafters workshop template and some Texture  magic dimensional magic ( awesome at only $4.99 a tube  )  to add some additional   texture to the page.....

I have then cut some Black box paper and torn off the bottom  to give me a rough edge.  I have then roughly  wiped  all the  edges with my ink pad.  Tracy has an amazing array of ink in store - my  faves are  the Tim Holtz distress inks!!

I have then added some  widgets paper across the  first piece of paper.  I also cut out some of the pieces from the Craftsman Engineer paper and used these as random addons  under the existing  layers of paper.

I have also used some of the  yummy  chipboard  COGS that Tracy has instore.  I  have colored these with my inks and a sponge and adhered them  to the  sides of my photo.

I also cut out a journal box and tucked it in under the edge of my photo.

I have then cut some small strips of the Tim Holtz film strip ribbon .  I SERIOUSLY  love this stuff and its awesome for boyish  layouts - well its  awesome  for any layouts  and I cant get enough of it !!!!

I also used a  Kraft bag with white tag    for my journalling.  I wanted this to fit in with the grungy feel of  the papers so I used my distress ink and wiped it around the edges and across the front of the envelope and also the tag for  added  grunginess!!  To this I have added a gorgeous  spanner!!
How gorgeous is that!!!!!
and here is the finished item!!!

head over to My2angels and take a look at these fabulous papers!!

Summer is coming....

We are beach  junkies in this house - we love  packing up the car with towels, sunscreen, boogie  boards and balls and heading to the beach - we  have a few favourites but there are so many fabulous ones on the Gold Coast - we are spoilt for choice!!

Today Im going to showcase to you an older line of papers but  fabulous colours and versatile for many  occasons - Its Echo Park HAPPY DAYS

I had a few  different  strips and bits and pieces from the range so I thought Id show you a cool way to use the  smaller pieces in your stash and create a fun background for your photo.  I have torn the small strips into rough edged  layers and overlapped them, using small pieces to fill in the gaps.

I have then taken some of my Kaiser stamps - I have used Kaiser bubblewrap and Kaiser grunge

stamp to add some additional colour and texture.  Its fine if you overlap your stamping - just use different colours  so they stand out from each other.  Tracy has a great  selection of INKS - take a look from stazon to archival inks to Tim Holtz distress inks!!!  And the prices are THE BEST!!!

I  have then used some coordinating stickers and chipboard and I have used the Echo Park alpha stickers  for the title.

I  have then added  my journalling and voila done!!!

I hope you like my  summer inspired layout and get into My2angels and take a look at Echo Park!!

Scrapbook savvy monthly challenge

HI all

Its a stunning Saturday here ....the kids are playing like superstars, the house is clean and  I am in the mood to make something.  This month  the Quote challenge over at Scrapbook savvy is very cool.  I loved last months too and it often solves my problem of a title!!
Here is my take on the challenge

I like the colour scheme for something  new and I  got to rifle through my stash  of flowers ...which is always fun!!  Its actually one photo   but I cut it in half.....and some cool washi tape = how cool is that stuff!!

Here are some  close ups....

and a gorgeous  wire heart Ive had sitting here for ages - the colours were perfect.....and the  beautiful   blue letters were a  gift from the divine Ms Lauren Bell!!  She can give me her " no longer  wanteds"  anytime she likes!!!

Okay  lovelies - Im going to strike while the iron is hot and seee if I can throw together another one!!!!

Some Fathers Day Attitude

My kids are truly fortunate  to have their Dad - he is an incredible Dad and an amazing inspiration for just about  anyone!  ... returning to university at aged 40  to become a Doctor - graduating with Honours and the University Medal - a truly  talented man and a fabulous  bloke to be married to.

I decided seeing as though it was Fathers Day on the weekend I would scrap a layout about him and the kids - just a quick and easy one -  and I love the Kaiser ATTITUDE papers  from My2angels - It was easy to use them again!!!

Tracy also gave  me some funky little white gloss journal tags in a kraft bag  so I thought it would be great to decorate one of them and tuck it in behind the photo.  I used  some of the stickers from the ATTITUDE range and also  some  twine - gotta  love that stuff - you can use it for everything.  I also added one of the fabulous  camera charms!!  Im  going to get each of the kids to write him a little note about what they love best about him and these can sit in the  kraft envelope and he can pull them  out and have a read !!!

I also grabbed an old book page  to layer in under the photo to just to add some extra grunge feel to the layout.

This photo t was taken on the Pier at Hervey Bay so I used the alpha stickers  in the ATTITUDE range to  run "Hervey Bay" along the side of the photo.  I also used these stickers  sheet for the Title.

Great stickers on the sheet make it easy to add some fun banners and  tabs to finish off the layout.....

SO go take a look at My2angels and see the fabulous Kaiser ranges instore!!

Scrapbook savvy monthly quote challenge

I made this in the nick of time - it ws due yesterday and I did it last night!!

The quote was " It seems like Just the other day".....and I often feel like that when I look at Teleah.   She was an 18 month old toddler when we moved to Queensland.  SHort  white  blond wispy hair amd barely  speaking.  She is now a confident, pretty  young  7 year old who is far too clever  for her  years and can do your head in with whining  and sooking!!!

We love her to pieces and I  love this photo taken by SHaron Dalton -  just gorgeous...

The new challenge for September  has just gone up - I LOVE  the quote  so pop into Scrapbook  savvy to see what it is!!!!!

Scrapbook Savvy cybercrop

Friday night I saw a facebook post for the Scrapbook savvy cybercrop and i actually felt like scrapping so I thought why not?

I was so thrilled that I actually  enjoyed  scrapping and  did some layout I didnt hate !  So here are a couple

Here is Taras sketch challenge......

I made the flower and the banner...with some old vintage fabric I had here....and the photo is me as a little tacker.  It always makes me laugh -  typical me - Pants down around  my ankles but still dancing and laughing!!!    Perfect!!  The lettering wasnt  quite  the right shade of pink so I wiped with my  trusty pinecone ink and it  matched  beautifully!!

Next was a  real challenge for me SaraN's  colour challeneg - it looked like something from  the Olympics....green and gold !!!  Holy Toledo - but  by the time I ratted through my stash I found a few things which led me in the right direction.  I chose this photo because it matched  the colour scheme - what do you think??

I also  managed to do Saras  challenge - a 5,4,3,2,1 challenge and my first  attempt  included washi tape as the paper and Sara said it had to be paper - so back I went and knocked out this one - I kinda like it and I made the washi tape banner.....

You have until September 6th to get your layouts in - so pop pver to Scrapbook savvy and  have a go!!

September Kraft it up

SO  after a long hiatus I am in the mood to scrap and today I did the Kraft it up challenge for September......I love it when you look at a colour challenge and think" this will be a challenge" and once you start  ratting  through your stuff( Lauren Bell, Sarah Hemmings and Donna White - that was for you!!) - it starts to come together .....here is the result of my playing today!!

Lots of bits and pieces and scrap paper and some cool washi tape and even some plumbers mesh!!!

Go take a look at Kraft it up  and check out the  great looking DT samples!!!!
