I love the challenges on Kraft it up and this months colour challenge really grabbed my eye. Im not normally one for brights but I loved these colours together so rifled through my stash and found some really old Rouge Garance papers that were just perfect for what I wanted.....this is my son Josh - . He has had a big year - he turned 13 in January and on his birthday he started high school. So now he has to catch a bus and wear long socks and a hat ( yep - private school!)
he has exceeded my expectations about how he would do and he is loving his new school!!
He is at that age where he HATES his photo being taken so every one I get is precious!!!!
So I have had a great day - Shane is at a medical training course all day so Ive been able to chill and scrap and the mojo is firing so here are my challenges from Scrap with Vs cybercrop. The first layout was to be in black, white and red and have love in the words of a song....I went with Huey Lewis and the news Power of Love.....and my lovely son Daniel
The next challenge was a sketch challenge and i dont always like sketches but this one struck me straight away and here is my take - same colour scheme LOL
I created it like four mini layouts - kinda cute
and here then the third one was a card - with layers , a colour I love ( i chose red), use the word LOVE and one heart .....this is mine - made from the scraps from challenge 2
and the DT challenge is to use five buttons, paper pleating, chipbaord and alter it - I have inked mine and then sprinkled glitter all over the Twiddleybitz border and I made a mini Amy Bender heart and lace!!!!
I loved doing this challenge and I have scrapped up a storm today!!! and LOVED it!! Now im off to sit on the couch and chat to my beautiful Doctor!!! Have a GREAT day and check out the cybercrop HERE
Ness has a GREAT BIG SALE on too- so make sure you check it out!!!!
If yo are familiar with my work you know I love vintage, shabby , full pages with lots going on. SO I am always tempted bya challenge that pushes me out of this comfort!! Leanne at Mad about Scrappin has a negative space challenge at the moment so of course I had to give it a shot.......and im quite happy with the result. What do you think???
I have been so busy with starting back in the workforce again, and getting the kids back to school and Josh starting High school and Shane starting work!!!! I have hardly had time to myself - let alone scrap!! But its the start of the month which means all the new challenges start going up and I was inspired by a couple. I loved ARTASTIC this month
The criterion were....about you , wings and multiple pics.......so here is my take - I am LOVING those vintage lace doilies!!!
So pop in and check it out - Shazza always has loads of prizes and awesome inspiration!!
Last year was a special year - the only year all of my children will be at Primary school together so of course when the school photos came up I had to pay the extra to get the family portrait one done and I love it. I never love scrapping school photos - I never seem to get it right...but amongst my vintage sheet music I found this one titled "Little study" I dug out an old Kaiser paper for the background and the gloruious amazing Crate paper restoration papers - my fave in quite some time I think!! So here are my four little schoolies all together!!!
Soul scrappers have put up their second challenge for their GLEE club competition. This time the band is TRAIN and the style is ALTERNATIVE. I went with a layout of Shane and I at his graduation last year - Drops of Jupiter - song by Train has always held secial meaning for Shane and I and I am just so proud of him and what he has acheived with his degree!
For all the details on the competiton - check it out HERE
I still find it a little hard to believe that I am the mother of a thirteen year old!! Josh started High school and has had fabulous start - facing challenges like catching a bus, starting at a school with NONE of his friends and dealing with an AMAZING amount of homework!! Mad about scrappin had a sketch for anyone wanting to apply for the DT - and here is my take on it......
In addition Shane started at hospital asa REAL LIFE Doctor - he looks SERIOUSLY HOT dressed as a Doctor - I just love it!!!! Despite some initial nerves - he seems to be getting more comfortable and even enjoyed his 14 hour shift last Friday!!! And I have also started a new job - I am the new Tuckshop convenor at the kids school - 4 days a week, perfect school hours and I get all the school holidays - who could ask for more!! I have had everything go wrong that could go wrong from fridges AND freezers dying to tills not working to electrical problems but I am really enjoying it - I have lots of new volunteers starting this week so once I get a good work schedule worked out - it will be time for some changes and improvements - I cant wait!!!
I am very excited as my gorgeous mate Em should have her new little chubbsy bubs this time tomorrow - I cant wait to go in and meet this new little person - these guys will be the most fabulous parents and this is a very long awaited babe!!!!! So on that note - see you on the flip side!!!!!
