Ticket to ride

I  am hoping to be able to keep up with  the  pace but I have joined up SOUL SCRAPPERS Glee club ( YES I was sucked in  by the GLEE link - LOL)
The first weeks challenge was to use one of a selection of Beatles  songs - I went with Ticket to ride and used a boy  grungy  style  to scrap Joshua - my new teenager!!!  Here is my take.....

So  pop in to  soul scrappers and take a look!!!

One World One heart

One World One Heart is a worldwide event for bloggers only. It gives all those who blog a chance to meet and mingle and form connections with those they may not have otherwise met from all over the world. In the past 4 years this event has grown to over 1,000 participants with lasting friendships (and even one love connection) formed along the way. Think of it as a GIGANTIC open house allowing you to travel without ever leaving your home........going from blog to blog(in various countries) seeing the wonder each one has created and meeting all the fabulous people behind those blogs. As a bonus each blogger participant will offer up a "door prize or prizes"....just for dropping by, saying hello and seeing their world. It's really that easy.

Check out all the details HERE

I will be offering  2 of my Scrapbooking  kits to two lucky winners  and the day of the  winners draw  happens to be my birthday !!!!  Here are  the pics of the kits...

and this one too

Are you a Digi scrapper???? Check this out....

I have many amazing and clever friends and one of my faves is the  very pregnant Emma Stafrace....if you know her work you know how clever she is and if you dont know her work - THEN  YOU SHOULD!!!!!

Now most women I know  go into the  "nesting " phase when they are  due to  give  birth....but not our   EM.  In her own unique style she has  gone  mad scrapping  and  has been  busy creating her own  digital scrapping  kits.....and now she wants  someone  to test drive it for her.  Emma is looking for 5  digital scrappers  who can have a play with  the two kits she has developed  so far - and they are  STUNNING!!!
That way - you can give her some feedback and information on  how  you  found the kit.  So please do yourself a favour and check it  all out here!!!

My gorgeous men - all of them!

I love my shabbby  chic and  vintage   stuff - but with three boys and a husband - I have to be able to  do  BOYISH layouts too so I love it when I can  kind of get away with blending the two.  This layout is for Challenge heaven - seriously  wicked  challenges so I  hope Shell  can continue with some help  with her going  back to work - Id offer to help - But I'll also be back at work so thats a bit of a bugger!!

ANYWAY - this challenge  was   to use black and apricot!  I went for a  pretty grungy   kind of apricot - this is Shane and the boys at the WILD and WINDY  beach a few weeks back - we spent ages  watching the kite surfers!!

and a few odds and ends I had floating around!

This country we live in is an AMAZING place - full of amazing scenes and beaches and countryside...and more recently unprecedented devastation. I dont think you can live in Queensland and not known someone affected by this tragedy. What is more amazing is how willing we are to get in and help in any way we can. You feel so helpless - you make your $$ donation but it really doesnt seem like much when you see the footage of what people are up against!!

Over 75% of our state has been affected in some way by floods. But there are a couple of ways we can help those affected by the floods. Kim Archer is conducting a special online workshop where all proceeds will go the Premiers Flood Relief Appeal. The workshop is only $5! You can sign up here.  I have!!

You can also help by getting creative. The Rising Waters Flood Appeal for Crafters are taking donations of scrap pages (minus the photo) that will then be sent to the flood victims for them to create their own scrapbook albums. Head over to the blog to find out the details on where to send your pages.

Its  so hard to watch but I like the fact  that each of us in our  own  little ways can  help to make a difference!!  Makes you proud to be an Australian!!

I have started creating several pages so far and will do some more in the next few days. It's a great way to use all those bits of scrap paper! I really hope you can help out too.

So devastating to watch

I live on the Gold Coast - its normally sunny and warm and we would be at the beach.  Instead we are  glued to the Television and facebook watching the  flood  tragedy that is occurring across Queensland.    People are missing,  some have died and many  will lose  all of their  valuables and possessions.  Its  devastating and amazing to watch - the sheer volume of water is  extreme and it isnt even over yet.
My heart goes out to all of you who are immediatley  affected  by this awful flooding.  I cant imagine where you begin the cleanup?  and where does all that debris and rubbish  and destroyed  belongings go?

For those of you who havent seen it - here is a small  section of the  water!!!

Did I show this one already?

Doing a MUCH NEEDED  cleanout of my scrap area  and came across some layouts - and IM not sure if Ive  blogged some of them or not!!  I figure  better twice than not at all ...YES I could scroll back through the last  umpteenth posts  but that would be tedious and distracting and this is easier - LOL!!

First up - this was a sketch chalenge at the scrap boutique  retreat I went  to back in November - one of Emmas   fantabulous  sketches - she is  truly clever - chek out her blog if you havent already  - tell her Lisa sent you!!  I won a  very cool hat with this  little number!

I love this colour scheme with the boys -  yummy!!!  The little book at the bottom  opens up with some journalling inside!

And then I did this one for Scrapncraft with T using  delicious Teresa Collins papers - I love these papers for boy layouts!!

And today Ive been working on one of the  Class kit releases for Mad about scrappin using the divine Kaiser English rose  papers.  I havent  liked  much of the Kaiser stuff for a  while but this  one definitley  took my fancy!!!!

Here is a  glimpse - there will be at LEAST one more layout  possible two - so AMAZING value - check out Leannes shop   - these should be out soon!!!

The kit comes with full instructions!!
