Those were the Days....Alphabet junction by Carta Bella

Wowser I have really enjoyed playing with these papers.  First of all I have to mention the quality of the papers - if you love the thickness, texture and feel of the My Minds Eye and Crate paper  papers - you will love these Alphabet Junction papers by Carta Bella!!

Initially I thought I might get some old pics of the boys when they were little but as I was rifling through by zillion photos I  found a series of photos from when I was very young so that is what I have gone with !!  The papers are perfect for my old black and white pics!!

I started with Kraft cardstock - I always have a supply on hand as I  love the stuff - you can use it for everything!!
I used the Alphabet handwriting paper and cut it to 10 inches by 10 inches.
Using Tumbled glass distress ink I  inked all the edges.  I  am a Tim Holtz junkie and  I own so many of his distress inks and Tracy has the best prices  ever!!!

I then took the Tossed letters paper and cut it with a craft knife using a sweeping  stroke.  I then cut another piece of the same paper but used the reverse side so they can be stuck  together and adhered to the top of the Alphabet handwriting paper.
I have distress inked all the edges with the Tumbled glass ink.
I have then taken some blue ricrac and adhered  that following the first  sweep where the papers meet.  This just gives a bit more texture and interest  to the background.

I have then matt my photo using the green side of Alpha cards .  I have cut down my photo and cut out the TODAY  banner from another of the cards and adhered it to  the bottom of my green matt.   I have then used foam mounting tape to raise this matt photo up off the page.

I then handcut the banner from the Alphabet banner  paper and I have adhered this randomly across the lower section of the page.  Again I have used foam mounting tape  to raise the banner up from the page....

I have then gone to the Sticker sheet and selected a journal box which I have slipped in under my photo and adhered the title "Those were the days".

I have used one of Tracys funky green buttons and attached some twine before attaching it to the side of my journalling.  I have then taken another sticker from the Alphabet junction sticker sheet and raised it on a banner at the bottom of my photo.

Add any journalling and you are done~!
