Scrapping just for fun.....

This Is a pic from a Noosa photo a few years ago now....we LOVE the National Park there and always spend a bit of time there......this pic of my boys is at the entrance.....its hard to tell whose what age here!!  I used lots of paper scraps agin and some washi tape and some stamping.....

So now Im up to date I might even head to the desk and make some more mess!!!

Scrap the boys....January!!

Hi again - Yep - two posts in a row - trying to catch up with stuff before I go and make more mess.....I decided I needed to try and do some of the challenges ....Iremember a time when I would be doing ALL of them in a month - last year I only blogged 11 times in total so what does that tell you!!!
SHEESH!!

ANYWAY _ here is my Scrap the Boys layout for January......to scrap something NEW about your boys......I had lots of ideas for this but settled on doing a layout for Lachlan...this pic was taken by Andrea Thompson and it was just before Lachlan finished Year 7 and moved onto High school.

  This kids is amazing in so many ways - clever beyond his years with the memory of an elephant and he proved this by graduating Year seven as Dux of the school - the highest academic award possible there!!!  So this is about him going off to make a NEW start.....again made with lots of scraps and bits and pieces left over from retreats and crops.....I like the colours in this one and the addition of a few old rubons added to a more teenage feel!!

Happy New Year!!!

Yes I know - don't freak out - Its January and Im back blogging hey!!  Amazing times we live in - hahahaha!!   OR the fact that my lovely hubby went on  a road trip with the little peeps for three days so I have actually had UNINTERRUPTED time!!!!! 
The funniest bit is I was lost without them for the first half day and now Im getting into this and Id like a few more days....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA - but a few more hours will have to do!!
SO I thought id do some show and tell......I have a couple of layouts from late last year that I never  got down on here and I actually scrapped the other night so I have those too............

My first piece of show and  tell is a layout I did of my DH and I....using scraps...Ive had bags of scraps left over from retreats and crop days  etc and Ive had a great time scrapping layouts from those scrap packs......in fact some of my favourite layouts have come from these offcuts!!!!

We have just celebrated 24 years together and 17 of those as a married couple....love him more today than I did back then!!!  We both feel extremely fortunate to live the life we do and to be able to do it together!! 

Okay - enough mushy stuff.....here is a pretty layout of my daughter and I having some fun  taking selfies......a simple layout but I like the colours!

 

And I think this selfie was taken around the same time...the last time I printed photos I did some as Square....I like it for something different!!!

 

I really  liked the colours in this one and the cool green and white straw at the bottom of the photo is from the fabulous Miss Tracey Thorne.....Thanks !!!!

A mixture of old and new.....

Hiya!!!

Because I haven't blogged for so long - I have a couple of layouts that have just been sitting here waiting and watching hoping to get some attention paid to them - so here we go.......

A photo shoot of Daniel man - taken August 4 at Lachlans birthday lunch - this kid hates to strike a pose I tell ya!!!!

Not sure if I like this one or not - but its done now - Hahahaha

But I do like this one- I think I did it for white with one in September after Wendy Smith came up - but as usual I forgot to photograph  it and upload it - But I LOVE the photo and the colours worked well...I think so anyway!!!!!!

And a  final photo of my gorgeous hubby and his beautiful daughter!!  Love these two together and they are mad for eah other too- lucky Im not the jealous type!!  Hahah
This was taken at Donnas place in Dalby on the motorbike!!

Part two - show and tell

I know - you thought Id never return but here I am hey!! 

I had some old kits with me on Saturday and decided I needed to work through some of them ( to justify me purchasing more - hahah!!)  and this one just fell together - fairly simple but I really like the colours!!

And then our gorgeous Teleah girl - dressed as Silky for Bookweek - she was so excited about her costume and she looked a wee bit cute too - I love the toothless grin!!  These were more paper scraps from my scraps bag!!

 

And a final teleah show  and tell.  I did this a few weeks ago and wasn't sure I liked it - but its growing on me and I do LOVE this photo - taken at Emerald Lakes!!

Dont be too shocked!!!

Okay - so I don't get to scrap anything like I used to - why?  I don't know - time , effort, Im working, have four kids with ever increasing activities and events to attend!!  Blah blah blah!! 
Mostly I just don't have the same get up and go for it at the moment - but I do love to get away with the girls - for a day, a weekend a, a month and have some serious focussed scrap time!!  And last Saturday I got to do that with a bunch of gorgeous girls!!    So now I have some show and tell!!
here are a couple!!

This is a pretty simple layout but the pictures kinda tell the story - Lachlan was pretending to tip Teleah into the pool!!  Back in May - Donna had purchased a new fabulous background stamp so of course I had to have a play - and on Saturday I found the cardstock Id stamped - so I added some washi tape, some rubons and some buttons....done!!

So whilst Im in a Lachlan kinda mood  here is a photo I love from our July holiday to Noosa.....day trippin around Tewantin!!

 

Another stamped background  from back in July and then some odds and ends I had in a bag!!!

 

And my final tribute To our beautiful son Lachlan - he turned 14  back in August and we went to lunch with my fabulous aunt and uncle....

A couple of retreat layouts

Ive just come back from a fabulous  weekend of scrapping with some great girls and I might  have created a layout or two.....or 17/.  Here are a couple

I love this photo of Daniel taken at Hervey Bay last year - photo snapped at exactly the right time!!



Here is a pretty soft layout made from random scraps around the table.....Thanks girls!!

My wish for you

Its nice to just scrap for the sake of scrapping without a deadline or a requirement.....I have loved this photo for a while - we have a large one in black and white in our lounge.  The colours just came together and I like the texture of the old doily underneath

Okay - dont freak out - BUT I am blogging!!!!

Okay don't freak out BUT  I am blogging!!  I know - the blog is in shock and so am I!!!

I seriously haven't scrapped for so  so long!!!!  But I was inspired by this months Scrap the boys with the funky sketch they had!!  So here it is.......

using my favourite products  currently - mists, masks and washi!!!  The gorgeous photographs are from Andrea Thompson photography - seriously love her stuff.

My curls....

As I get older my hair just gets curlier and curlier - I am certain I  will end my days as a fully blown poodle!!  As a teenager I used to get my hair permed - now I wonder why the heck I needed to ??

SO I had fun with these old photos and this one is of me as a little girl and shows that I even had curls back then.  I am  seriously  loving the colours in the Carta Bella Alphabet Junction papers and they were  perfect for this photo!!

So for starters I used my favourite crafters workshop template - the spotty dotties and with my Tim HOltz distress ink Broken China

 I established a bit of interest  for my background.  I then used a serious of smaller cut sections of Alphabet Junction papers - the blue under the photo is the backside of Dear Little dots .  I have then cut a long strip of the pink spotted Handwriting - again using the B side.  I also had a small strip of the green Alphacards which I slipped in under the blue paper.

In the top right hand corner under where the photo would  sit I also used some of the reverse side Alphabet banner.  I also pleated a strip of the striped Delightful stripe and adhered across the pink paper for  additional burst of colour.

I am a HUGE lover of ricrac - its so versatile and easy to use....and Tracy has an awesome ramge - I have used some of the pretty pink ric rac but you could use any range of colours depending on the p colours in your photo!!

I then went to the coordinated sticker sheet and selected a range of stickers to add to my layout - I always love a  journal spot or two and I also liked  some of the coordinating strips so I have added a couple once I had adhered my photo.I also slipped in a pretty  small doily under the top left side of the photos and cut it and used the remainder at the bottom  right - I find it just  added a bit of softness and prettiness!!

Tracy  also has some wicked buttons and some gorgeous resin flowers so I had to  add a couple of those!!

 

As a last minute touch I couldnt resist Tracys gorgeous fairy  girl charms
Finally I have used the alphabet sticker sheet for my title using two different  fonts.

I also like to outline some of my papers when they have a white background just so they stand out a little more....I love  the little touches like this to finish a layout

New layout - old photos!!

I made a fabulous discovery a few weeks ago - a stack of  photos from my oldest boys when they were babies - they were mostly pre digital so First of all there are not as many of them!  and they arent  just sitting on my computer ready to print off when I want so I've had fun going back and scrapping some of the boys  baby photos in a more current style!!

Here is a step by step using the fabulous Carta Bella Alphabet Junction papers from My2angels.net - beautiful quality - if you love My minds Eye and Crate paper quality papers -  you will love these!!

So for this layout of Lachlan when he was a baby I  have used the Carta Bella Dear little Dots paper - I have used the blue reverse  side for my background.

I have then cut large  flag shapes from  Delightful stripe, Simple scallops and Ive used the reverse side of simple scallops for the third flag.  I have then distressed all the edges and run ink around the edges before doodling on the edges.

I have then used Bakers twine to thread them together - you will need a good strong needle!  As I have looped the twine I have also added the cool lollipop charm and the Make a Wish tag from the Birthday Boy green Presents embellishments .  This gives additonal interest and dimension to the banner.

I have then cut a selection of hexagons from the Honeycomb paper  and I have added some to the middle banner and some to the bottom right side of the layout...

I have then selected a range of stickers from the Alphabet Junction sticker sheet and added them to the edges of the photo and also  to decorate the flags.

I also used the coordinating Alpha stickers for the title

Finally add some journalling and you are done..... awesome papers with such versatility I can use these over and over .....Pop inMy2angels.net and tell Tracy I said Hi - she always has a bonus freebie on offer too!!!!

and a little Alphabet Junction....

Okay so the school fete is over and I can return to a real life....no more  canvasses, no more toffee, no  more mars bar slice, nor more Fete !!  It was a huge success but so tiring and now I can get back some ME time!!

Before the Fete the Divine Miss Tracy gave me some fabulous Alphabet junction papers from Carta Bella to play with and Im  LOVING them.  You can use them for just about anything and for todays post I  have dug out an old photo of me as a youngster - Im the one in the pink dressing gown!!

SO here goes......started with white cardstock - I need an endless supply - it has such a crisp clean look - I love it !  I then used a funky Crafters workshop template and yummy Tim HOltz distress ink dried marigold to give the yummy background some texture!!

I then cut a large sized banner from the reverse side of the Handwriting paper.  I have then used the strip of green from the Alphacards paper and the blue from the Tossed letters paper and created smaller strips horizontally across the page.

I have also used a torn strip of the Handwriting paper and  some stickers of the Element sticker sheet.

I have   then added my photo across the arranged strips of paper and added a white ribbon and bow from the White organza scalloped edge ribbon.

 To this I have then added  some blue ricrac for that extra burst of colour.  I have then tied a little girl skipping charm to the bow - these are SO cute and I loved being able to use it on this layout!! 

I have then added some gorgeous resin flowers - Tracy has such a great selection and they are  so cheap - you can have lots of colours!!! 

I have added an extra  little cluster for the bottom  corner.

I have then  added my title from the sticker sheet....
I also then outlined my papers and the title with a black felt pen!!

As a final touch I have hand stitched a circle around the piece!!!
