Brotherly love

Hubby  has been working  night shift  and there is  something about the quiet house. late at night and I feel like  scrapping and last  night was quite a productive night.  First up I did this  one - my take on the sketch at Scrapbook savvy.  I had to shrink the sketch to use these pics - there was a lot of ackground I didnt need or want.  I  gotta say  I love these  colours together -  a bit yummy!!

123 challenge

The  very gorgeous Giovanna Scott has set the challenge over at 123  this  month and it caught my eye on facebook so I set down this morning and  actually DID IT!!!  The challenge was the word MAKE,  make  something and the colour Marigold.....here is my take

I have  some  very old paper but I still really like them so I am determined to try and work my way through them before I  go buying more and more.....I have done a massive cleanout this year so that helps......I loved the Bo Bunny Mamarazzi  when it came out and i have loads of it....here is one of the layouts I did at Donnas  to use it  up...

The first little pic is Shane and I as  best man and bridesmaid at our best mates  wedding -  20  years  ago next year - Holy  shit!!
The middle  one is  us  one Christmas BC ( before children ) and the final one is us at Shanes graduation last year .  We are coming up to  22 years together and 15 years married - wowser- time  flies when you are having fun!!!

Live out Loud

Its very hard to get good pics  of my  almost 14 year old boy - Gee - who  would have thought!!!  SO  these days I have to scrap what I can  get!  This is Joshua at Dalby McDonalds  back in AUgust - exhausted I think??

Year 7 Graduating class

Tonight my Number 2 son  has his Graduation  night at his school-  can I really have  2 high school children next year?????   HOLY TOLEDO!!  So its  probably timely for me to have scrapped one of Joshuas photos  from his Grad  last year!!!  This is him and his mates .....none of whom went to the same high school as him - all spread to the winds!!!

This was a challenge for the scrapbook savvy  cybercrop!!!  A colour challenge =- loved it Thanks Sara!!!

Some Daniel love.....

This  kid  can drive you crazy but he is the most  lovable, affectionate, comical  character - just love him to bits.  He is so  easy to scrap too- he is very photogenic and doesnt  make a  carry on for photos  either!!  I think most of my published work - would  be Daniel!!

This  kind of started out as a scraplift of a fabulous layout  from the  amazing Lauren Bell but as usual about the only thing the same is the background paper and some red.....Oh well!!  They boys  duct taped Daniel to a palm across the road and then started pelting him  with  water pistols I think??

I then did this layout using papers from a kit I got at Wicked Princesses - excellent  boy  papers and embellies - That Krissy is so clever!!!!

The Whitehouse retreat

So here are a couple more layouts  from the Whitehouse retreat -  the first is actually   from back  in August  because I forgot to bring it home....HAHAHA

Oops - just  noticed a piece of foil ( hmmm maybe chocolate?) under  the orange shirt on the clothesline.....

This second layout is using one of my own kits - I love this photo of my niece and Teleah together - so  cute!!!

It was SO  nice to spend some time with  14  girls who are  all fabulous - funny ,clever , supportive and amazingly  talented.  Donna  had us all place our layouts  up on her long wall- with blutac - and the wall looked unreal!!!!    When I get some pics of it - I'll post them here.  I had to take  all four of my kids and they had a ball-  Thanks  to all the girls  who let me bring them!!!

Love a grungy boy paper

I have three sons - all  teens  or tweens so scrapping starts to  be a  bigger challenge - no more cutesy papers, no more characters and dress ups - now its all about the attitude - HAHAH .

Thats why I loved this paper from Scrapfriends - they  have an amazing variety and stuff you have never seen  anywhere else.....SO  cool!!!!   Here is a fabbo  boy  page I did on the weekend at Donnas.....

Cool paper  huh - add a  photo and some  bits and pieces and you are done -  gotta love that!!!

Here is another layout I did  using papers from Scrapfriends.  I love these papers - they are  like a cardstocl thickness...I have cut the film strip section from another piece of scrapfriends paper......

Wahoo- there is a new scrap store with awesome papers

Lucky me!!!  I was recently asked  to do a  guest DT spot and that led me to Scrapfriends  and their amazing  range of papers.  There are papers I have never  seen before and they are  GORGEOUS - and the prices are really good too-  so  go and check them out.  I have a couple of layouts I have done already using  some of the papers   but Ill show you bit by bit!!!

I was invited to a special retreat last weekend and I wasnt going to go because Shane had to work and I would have the kids.  And then I kept getting asked  was I coming, was I coming - just bring the kids......and I couldnt make up my mind.  Last minute Friday I decided - YEP - we will all go - so off I went - a bit nervously - who wants to go to a retreat with their four kids???  ANYWAY - I am so glad I did - I had an absolute ball ( I knew I would - these chicks rock!!) and my kids were really good!!  I just owe Krissy a  bag of maltesers!!!

Twiddleybitz BLOGHOP!!!

Welcome to the TWIDDLEYBITZ  bloghop!!!  If you have  been  following the blog  from the beginning you - will  have just  come from Anne-Marie Cox.  Isnt she amazing - I just love her work and her  boy layouts  always  leave  me envious of her talent!!  If  you want  to start at the beginning and havent yet -  start HERE with Melanie Forbes and be  blown away   by her  beautiful work!!

So I have a couple of bits  of Twiddleybitz show and tell.....they have some fabulous  new  release stuff out  and  is  such GREAT  quality chipboard to work with!!!

First up is a  grungy layout  of my son  Daniel when he turned  NINE  last year .....

I have used the gorgeous  mini  cogs and even the  frame  that they were attached to - never one to leave  anything  to waste!!!

I love  photo booth  pics -  such a  funky size and the  black and white  looks  so cool!!!

I embossed the  blue frame with Twiddleybitz  enamels - Jewel enamels - the colour is SAPPHIRE

and  this  next one will be joining the  Twiddleybitz  roadshow  so  you  may even get  to see it at the  Paper show in Sydney!!

and this is the favourite recent piece of mine.....

I just  love Twiddleybitz    off  the page  pieces and I  bought some of their  gleam gilding wax when I was at the paper show in Brisbane back in June and I am loving the stuff!!!!  

Its a wax based gilding  cream which  you apply  with just a soft cotton  cloth.  Its permanent and lightfast - you can even shade it  by layering -  gives  a fabulous effect.  This  is how I have  made the  birdcage  gold!!!

I found the little  gold  bird in one of the Fabulous Christmas shops and thought  he might like this  little  home!!  Cute huh!!

The fabulous Websters  papers Lets Celebrate - I  got some from My2angels  and together with  the fabulous embellishments  Tracy   sells - I was able to put together this  layout  with photos from Teleahs  6th birthday!!

Dare to dream

My husband is an  inspirational man!  He proves that it is never to late  to  learn something new and you can  Dare to dream !!  He  left  school after Year 12 and  joined the local  credit union.  We travelled overseas for a year  in our earyly  twenties and he came back to  work in debt collection - which of course he HATED.  SO he retrained as a nurse and after  10 years  of that - he  retrained AGAIN and he is now a  Doctor!!!  To say I am proud of him doesnt even start to address what I feel for what he has done!!  he graduated with honours and also  earnt the University  medal which is a huge award!!!!

Im such a bad blogger these days - life  just  gets  busier and  busier - with the  kids and work and  activites and we have  a  very busy  social life at the moment - which is LOVELY - but  sometimes  it feels  like a  merry go round  spinning out of control!!!  Yes I can see you smiling - I bet you can relate cant you!!

I love it - I wouldnt have it any other way !!

Girls night in at Wicked Princesses

So I bought the fabulous  Wicked Princesses  Girls night in kit - and I finally  got to do it on the weekend and  of course I had to  scrap this pic of my  mate Donna!!!!  Everybody  loves this woman - she is funny , beautiful and  a very clever scrapper and she makes  me laugh ...A LOT!!!!

Happy Halloween haunting!!!!

Yes I know - some of you are going to say _ " I dont do Halloween  - its so American ".....Yep - well I am not  religious but I still do Easter and  Christmas just because they are  fun and I like the spirit of them  - SO it is the same for Halloween!!  The kids   get to dress up and visit the neighbors and get   a dose of  junk for the next month!!  Our street  do an awesome  Halloween night  - loads of kids   get involved and we have  kids come from everywhere.......I may  have even been known to  wear a scary hat !!  SO these are the Halloween  layouts  I have recently  done - ready for a new dose of scary photos!!

Scrapbook savvy cybercrop

Sometimes I need  a challenge to fire me up and  get me back into scrapping and so I  needed  that prod  on FRiday night!!  Lucky for me the  Cybercrop was on  over at Scrapbook Savvy  and I even got a couple of challenges done - WAHOOOOOOOO

I count my  blessings every day - I have the  most  fabulous  husband - Love him dearly and have for almost  22 years!!  OMG - where did that time go!!!  Together we have  had four  children - not bad for a couple who were having none!!  Anyway recently we spent a  fabulous day together  out at Binna Burra - in the  mountains of the Gold Coast.  We went for a bushwalk and came across this awesome river and  waterfall-  this is one of the  photos I took on the day!!

Okay - I am working my way through the  20 layouts that I did when I stayed with Donna  at the WHITE house  in August.....here are a couple more....

Life lessons.....

As a parent - you always  want to do the best by your children.  You want them to be happy.  You want them to  be  genuine good people.....Getting them there gives you some appreciation for how hard a job it really is!!!! 

They drive you crazy - REALLY crazy sometimes....they drain all the energy  from you sometimes......and then there are those times when they are sitting in the car and the four of them are having a conversation about why their Mum is the best Mum and it brings tears to your eyes.

We are off on a  short weekend  getaway tomorrow and we cant wait!!!  Our AFL  team play in the Grand final on Saturday and we will be catching up with some  great friends so  all in all it will be a  wicked  weekend - especially if the CATS  win!!!!  Haha!!

So speaking of  raising kids -  that litle  dribble  came about from this layout- the  strip joournal bits were part of one of the bits of paper I had and it started the whole layout,.....and I love this pic of Miss Teleah!!!!!

Who wants leftovers???

Haha - these were all leftover  bits and pieces  I had from all the Layouts I  had done in Dalby  with Doona and Lauren and Sarah -  so thats why its  leftovers!!!

This particular  day on the Gold Cost was a King tide and we went to have a look at the changing  ocean and  landline...it was SO WINDY - I hated it - but of course none of the boys did!!!!!

WOW - two days in a row!!!

Are you in shock?  I am - except that I cheated and I did  this last  night and scheduled it for today  because we have a full on day and I want get on here at all!!!   CHEATER SKEETER!!! 

I did this one at Donnas at Dalby  back in August - I just loved the colours and it was probably one of my faves  from  the  20 I did that weekend!!   and I love the picture of little Miss Teleah - she  melts my heart!!!

SO unblogworthy !!!!!

I feel so bad - I thought I would  get time to scrap  and  blog and  enjoy the school holidays....instead our  bestie mates from Melbourne  decided on a spur of the moment  week on the Gold Coast so we could spend some time together - so we have pretty much done that  every day!!  LOTS of beach and whale watching and swimming and  just loving kicking  back  with our  friends.  They have three kids  VERY  similar ages  to ours - our eldest  are 5 days apart if that  gives you an indication!!!!!  Our  youngest are threee months  apart so the kids are inseparable and will miss each other  heaps  when they  leave!!!! I do have  a little bit of show and tell though........

My gorgeous  Lachlan at a party we went to last year - he is always needing a haircut!!!!  LOL

So I am still working my way through the  layouts I completed at the Dalby WHITEHOUSE  mini retreat - wish I could time travel  back to a Saturday night with Sarah, Josie, Nadine Lauren and Donna.......here is a little bit of show and tell....

and so time flies......

Its September - how on earth did that happen already!!!  At the end of this month my  baby boy monkey will turn 10!!!!  I remember the end of this pregnancy  so clearly  because those last few weeks at home were  FULL of 911 reports .  Endlessly, so much so that we turned the TV off because the two other boys were only  2 and 3.  I remember  seeing Joshuas face just once as the news report showed  the planes hitting the Twin towers and he asked" Mum why is all the news bad in the world?"  So the TV went off and didnt go back on again for probably a month!! 

So its September and that means that  very soon all our visitors  start  again - My Mum and Dad , my sister and her family, my brother and his family, Shanes Mum and Dad  and some friends in between!!!!!!  We cant wait - we love that our friends and family  choose to spend their  holiday time coming to the Gold Coast and visiting us!!!  And the weather is getting warmer so  that will  be  FABULOUS!!

Ive been scrapping   for the  Twiddleybitz show at  Brisbane  this weekend - make sure you drop by and Say Hi to the Twiddley team!! - sadly I wont be there this time -  I have a MASSIVE  weekend planned - cant say too much - Ill tell you about it when  its  done and dusted !!!!

Some AUTHENTIQUE goodness

Hohum - you see all these fabulous papers come out of CHA and this one  particularly  caught my eye - LOVE LOVE  LOVE  the colours and the  papers themselves are just the texture and thickness i LOVE -  think MY Minds Eye goodness!!!!  So I was  Super excited to see Tracey  had them in store at My2angels and they are  just  stunning - I got  to have a play with them last night and  I used the sketch from over at scrapwithv.

I have  a super busy weekend  starting VERY  soon  but I just wanted to show  you this first........

The title is "and  then there were 6 ".....not bad for a couple who werent having any children !!!!!!
